Director
Terry, Director of Queensland Family Pools & Spas, is a proud second generation pool builder who followed in the footsteps of his father, Chris Nicholls. With over 28 years of experience in the construction industry, Terry has worked hands on across every stage of concrete pool building, including steel fixing, concreting, plumbing, and sales, before progressing into his current leadership role as Director and board member of the Master Pool Builders.
His extensive industry knowledge and practical experience give him a thorough understanding of pool construction from the ground up. Terry is known for his attention to detail, commitment to quality workmanship, and dedication to ensuring every project meets the highest standards and regulations. Passionate about creating exceptional outdoor spaces, he takes great pride in helping clients bring their dream pools to life.
Highly respected within the industry, Terry has received numerous awards recognising his professionalism, customer service, and industry expertise. Most recently, he was named the 2025 SPASA Queensland Sales Representative of the Year and was also recognised as a finalist for Pool Designer of the Year. In 2023, Terry received both the SPASA National and State Pool Sales Representative of the Year awards, highlighting his ongoing commitment to excellence and leadership within the pool industry.
Outside of work, Terry enjoys spending weekends with his family at equestrian competitions, supporting his daughter’s passion for show jumping. When he gets the chance to slow down, you’ll often find him with a fishing rod in hand, making the most of his love for the water and the outdoors.
Business Manager
Renee is the Business Manager of Queensland Family Pools & Spas and wife to Terry, playing an integral role in the family owned business for the past 14 years across both first and second generation ownership. With a dedicated focus on customer experience, business operations, and digital design, Renee oversees Accounts Payable, Digital Pool Designs, and HR/Marketing, helping drive the continued growth and success of the company.
Outside of the office, Renee and Terry are heavily involved in the equestrian community, spending much of their time supporting their daughter Kirra at competitions and events. They are also passionate advocates for Cystic Fibrosis, a cause very close to their hearts, and are committed to giving back to the community through ongoing support and awareness initiatives.
Construction Manager
Brandon has been a valued member of the QFPS team since 2017.
He began his career with the company as a labourer, and through his unwavering commitment, dedication, and hard work, he has steadily progressed to the role of Construction Manager.
Over the years, Brandon has demonstrated exceptional leadership and expertise, playing a pivotal role in the successful delivery of numerous projects.
Brandon was honoured with the prestigious SPASA Queensland Construction Tradesperson of the Year award for both 2024 and 2025 — demonstrating his continued excellence and leadership in the field. In addition, he was named the 2025 SPASA Queensland Professional of the Year and received national recognition as the 2025 SPASA National Construction Person of the Year.
Outside of work, Brandon enjoys spending quality time on the water with family and friends.
Operations Manager
Miche has worked within the Swimming Pool Industry for the last 30 years. Miche is incredibly passionate about the industry.
Since commencing in 2021, Miche has
implemented many new processes and strategies to ensure seamless communication with our clients.
At the 2022 SPASA awards Miche won the Queensland Operational Excellence award & Queensland Professional of the year, Miche went onto winning National Professional of the year.
Miche enjoys weekends at the beach with her family.
Administration / PA / Sales
Kathryn joined QFPS in March 2022 and is the first point of contact within the company, dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service from your initial enquiry to the completion of your project.
In addition to her role as Office Administrator, Kathryn is also Personal Assistant to Terry and plays a key part in supporting the sales team.
Her hard work and dedication were recognised when she was honoured with a Highly Commended award for Rising Star at the 2024 SPASA Awards, acknowledging her contributions as a newcomer to the industry. In a very strong field Kathryn was named 2025 SPASA Finalist for Operational Excellence – highlighting to her ongoing commitment to high standards and efficient operations.
Outside of work, Kathryn enjoys spending weekends watching her children play sport and exploring the vibrant city of Brisbane.
Construction Supervisor
Guy recently joined QFPS, bringing with him a strong background in the construction industry.
With 20 years of experience as a tiler, including eight years specialising in swimming pool tiling, he’s built a reputation for his attention to detail and commitment to quality. His extensive hands-on experience ensures that every project he oversees meets the highest standards.
In recognition of his impact since joining the industry, Guy was named a 2025 SPASA Finalist for Rising Star — a reflection of his talent, dedication, and potential as a future leader in the field.
When he’s not working, Guy enjoys spending quality time with his family and unwinding with a fishing rod in hand.
